You know what I hate?

Hospitals. Open floor plan hospitals. Good Christ. The disgusting things I heard. And the personal medical histories I heard. Is methadone used for anything other than getting over heroin? Must wiki that.

Thankfully, I was only there for a minor medical procedure in a section called "Short Stay." I rather liked that. Thankfully, it was relatively painless and the turkey sandwich was relatively edible. Thankfully my own personal short stay was only about six hours.

Seriously, though... the farting. I don't need to hear people farting. I know it wasn't their fault - part of their recovery from whatever gastro procedure they had was being able to pass gas - but, good Christ. Oh, thankfully, though, my nose is super un-sensitive so I didn't smell anything. That was a blessing.

Alrighty. Not related to anything, just had to vent. As you were.

  1. Commenting on myself again, but wanted to add something. We've fully established my lameness. Let's move on from that.

Anyway, when the neurologist was talking to me about the procedure and my recovery from it, I said to her, "I have a 25 pound son. How soon can I hold him?" And even to me that sounded awkwardly phrased. I didn't want to say the extra words "two and a half year old son who is." I'm all about efficiency. Possibly they appreciated this. Or possibly they were like, wtf? Awkward much? Who knows. OK then.

  2. Oh my god, but I'm going for lamest blogger ever title.

You know what else I hate? When I get information about whether a birth was vaginal or not on facebook. I don't care. And, I'm sorry, I'm completely in support of it in theory, but when you mention it was VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section), it just seems like bragging. Eff you, random wife of my husband's random friend from grad school. Eff you.

  3. I would have jumped on her awkward pause and added, "He's 14 years old and going through a very difficult time in school..."
